Bright Orbit Movers Planned moves, named crews

Local & long-haul removals

The whole day, written down before the van arrives

Every Bright Orbit move starts with a survey and ends with a walkthrough. You get a route, a crew list, an arrival window and a written scope — so nobody is guessing at eight in the morning.

01 / Move types

Find the move you are actually booking

Crew size and loading time are what shape a quote. Start from the closest match below, then tell us where it differs — stairs, a long carry, a piano, a same-day handover.

01

Studio & one-bed

A two-person crew, one van, and a single load. Best booked mid-week when the streets are quieter and lifts are free. We bring blankets, straps and a wardrobe carton for anything that should stay hanging.

  • 2 movers
  • 3–5 hours
  • One van load

02

Family home

Three or four movers, staged room by room so the kitchen and the children's rooms land last and get unpacked first. Beds are dismantled on the way out and rebuilt before the crew leaves.

  • 3–4 movers
  • Full day
  • Beds rebuilt

03

Office & studio relocation

Planned out of hours so your team logs off on Friday and logs in somewhere else on Monday. Desks are labelled by seat, cables bagged to the machine they belong to, and the server cupboard moved last.

  • Out of hours
  • Labelled by seat
  • Floor protection

04

Storage handoff & part moves

For overlapping dates, renovations, or a house sale that completes before the next set of keys. We load, hold the inventory list, and return on your date — one van, same crew where the calendar allows.

  • Inventory list
  • Flexible return
  • Part loads

02 / How move day runs

Five fixed stages, no surprises

The same sequence runs on every job, whether it is a studio across town or a house four hours up the coast.

  1. Survey call

A short video walkthrough of both ends. We look at access, parking, stairs and anything awkward before we price it.

  2. Written plan

You get the scope, the crew size, the arrival window and the price in writing. Changes are re-quoted, never improvised.

  3. Pack day

Optional, usually the afternoon before. Kitchens, glassware and bookshelves are the ones worth handing over.

  4. Move day

Floors and door frames protected, room labels on every box, one crew lead who owns the running order.

  5. Settle-in hour

Beds rebuilt, boxes in the right rooms, packing debris taken away, and a walkthrough before anyone signs off.

03 / What's covered

In the rate, or quoted separately

Removal quotes go wrong when the extras appear on the day. Here is the split we work to, so you can compare it with anyone else you ask.

04 / Packing notes

What the crew wishes you knew

Five things that save an hour on the day. None of them need a professional packer.

  • Small boxes for heavy things

Books, tools and tinned food go in the smallest box you own. A large box filled with heavy items is the one that splits on the stairs.

  • Label the room, not the contents

Write the destination room on two sides and the top. The crew is reading boxes at walking pace with something heavy in their hands.

  • Pack an open-first box

Kettle, mugs, chargers, medication, loo roll, a knife. Keep it with you in the car rather than in the van.

  • Empty drawers of anything loose

Soft goods can stay in a chest of drawers. Glass, liquids, papers and anything that slides need to come out before we tip it.

  • Photograph the cables

One photo of the back of the television and the desk setup takes ten seconds and saves a very long evening.

05 / Quote request

Tell us the date and the two doors

Send the basics and we will come back with a survey slot and an indicative range. Nothing is booked until you have the written scope.

We reply with a survey slot and the questions we still need answered. No deposit is taken at this stage.

06 / Questions

Asked before every booking

How far ahead should I book?

Four to six weeks for a weekday, and longer for the last Friday of a month or any Saturday in summer — those go first. If your date is tight, ask anyway; cancellations move around and part loads can sometimes be slotted in.

What actually decides the price?

Volume, access and time. Volume sets the van and crew, access decides how long each load takes, and time covers the drive. Stairs without a lift, a long carry from the parking spot, and a narrow street are the three things that change a quote most.

Do I need to empty drawers and wardrobes?

Clothes and soft goods can stay in a chest of drawers. Anything glass, liquid, loose or valuable comes out first, and wardrobes are emptied — hanging clothes go into loan cartons on the day so they arrive on their hangers.

Is there anything the crew will not carry?

Yes. Petrol, gas bottles, paint thinners, fireworks and anything else flammable stay behind. We also decline full aquariums, unsecured firearms and open containers of liquid. Pianos, safes and workshop machinery are carried, but they are quoted as specialist items with the right equipment booked.

What happens if the new place isn't ready on the day?

Tell the crew lead as early as you can. Short delays are absorbed into the day's waiting time. If keys slip entirely, the load stays secured with us overnight and we return on the next available slot — that is what the storage handoff option exists for.

What access details do you need in advance?

The floor number at both ends, whether there is a lift and whether it can be booked, how close a long-wheelbase van can park, and whether either street needs a permit or has a loading restriction. Photos of the entrance and the staircase are more useful than a description.

How is fragile or high-value furniture handled?

Flat surfaces are blanket-wrapped and strapped upright; mirrors and artwork travel in purpose-made cartons. If a piece is irreplaceable, say so at the survey — it gets loaded last, carried by the crew lead, and listed separately on the inventory sheet.
